It’s January
April 7, 2020I get it. I’m feeling it too.
It’s been weeks of rich foods and sitting in cars and living rooms. It’s been shuffling about and dealing with emotions the best way we know how.
It’s January. And it feels like you’re wearing it all. It’s confusing, how it all makes you feel. Your body maybe craving fruits and veggies, but you worry that you’ve been caught in a diet thirst trap to focus on them. That perhaps you know all the sugar and rich foods you are so proud you allowed yourself to enjoy didn’t make your tummy feel so great, but wonder if you try and stay away from it now, is that restricting? Not to mention after sitting so much, you’re itching to move. Is this diet culture? Did we get stuck in it again?
To be honest, I don’t have all the answers, I’m not a professional. I’m just a human. I simply know how January FEELS. I know the pressure that builds. The bloat we may carry. The desire for fresh starts, while combating messages telling you that now is the time to take back your life, simply by being smaller and taking up less space. Self-loving, but itching for newness.
It’s confusing to know what’s right.
Maybe this year we block out the noise, tap inward and start navigating ourselves as we learn. Willing to be wrong, willing to unlearn things too. Willing to remove the shame that keeps coming back to our bodies and minds, working to make choices right for us.
Willing to just listen. Show up. Exist to live, not just living to exist. Finding out what that means.
But it is undeniable that you ARE a walking piece of art. A unique and ever-changing canvas.
Marvel in it. Listen to it. Learn from it.
That, is all I really do know.
